Do Sun hats keep your face and neck from getting tanned?

like how big should a sun hat be to cover your whole face and neck from the sun?

1. It depends on the hat. If you get a hat with a big brim, like four or five inches, that should cover you up enough.
2. Yes, they can help. As long as your skin is shaded, it's not going to tan (think tan lines from a swim suit). A truly extensive hat would look like the vintage sunbonnets that pioneer women wore, but a more modern look will certainly help :-)
3. Around a four inch brim should do it, but you should be wearing sunscreen, especially on your face, neck, and shoulders, all the time if you're in the sun! It'll keep you from getting skin cancer eventually!
