Why do LaRouche group volunteers wear straw sun hats?

It's kind of weird, but every time I've seen a Larouche group volunteer standing out with flyers and their Obama with a Hitler mustache posters, they're wearing straw hats. Big ones. Like the one my grandmother gardened in. Any significance there?
